Saraa Art Class was founded with a simple belief: Art develops through learning, applying the knowledge, and receiving feedback, and not through shortcuts or recordings.

Here, all classes are conducted live. There are no recorded videos or pre-packaged lessons. Each session unfolds in real time, allowing students to observe, ask questions, make mistakes, and correct them as they work. This live format keeps learning active, responsive, and grounded.

Individual attention is central to the teaching approach. Students are guided closely until they gain confidence and independence in their work. Instruction is shaped around each learner’s pace and way of seeing, with feedback that is immediate, practical, and rooted in fundamentals such as observation, proportion, tone, and control.

Saraa Art Class welcomes learners across age groups and skill levels. Online sessions connect students from different parts of the world, while offline classes are held at the studio in Madhanandapuram, Porur, Chennai. Regardless of format, the focus remains the same: steady practice, honest learning, and respect for individual growth.

 MP Sharavanan Chitrakaaran is a Chennai-based contemporary and portrait artist with over three decades of experience in the field of art. Working primarily in acrylic and oil on canvas, he is known for a strong foundation in drawing, confident brushwork, and a deep sensitivity to human expression. He is respected among established artists and loved by children for the ease he brings to learning.

His paintings often draw from Indian life and culture: next-door faces, everyday moments, and emotions that feel familiar and lived. Alongside studio work, he has created portraits for private collectors and artworks displayed in professional and public spaces.

Meticulous in his approach, he uses finesse to bring clarity and depth to his paintings, allowing them to inform, delight, or inspire. 

As a teacher, Sharavanan Chitrakaaran brings the same discipline, honesty, and love to the classroom. He has taught at several institutions, including a one-year tenure at MIDAS College, and has guided students across age groups and skill levels. His teaching emphasizes fundamentals such as observation, proportion, tone, and patience, encouraging students to develop their own visual voice rather than imitate a style.

Under Saraa Art Class, he conducts both online and offline sessions. Students from different parts of the world attend his online classes, while in-person sessions take place at his studio in Madhanandapuram, Porur. Across formats, his approach remains consistent: steady guidance, individual attention, and respect for each student’s pace of learning.
